Streatham Festival – Terry Pratchett’s Shorts
By Terry Pratchett, read by STC members. Subject to licence.
3pm (doors 2.30pm) and 7.30pm (doors 7pm)
The late Sir Terry Pratchett is well known as the creator of the Discworld series, as well as several other books. He also wrote many short stories, some as newspaper columns, others for anthologies.
STC has selected a number of those stories and will read and perform them rather like live audiobooks. Discover another part of Terry’s prolific output and enjoy these standalone short tales, some about Discworld and some not.
“Here are characters both familiar and yet to be discovered; abandoned worlds and others still expanding; adventure, death, and disco, all of it shot through with his inimitable brand of humour.”
Would you like to take part? If you are interested in reading a piece (or two) let us know. You will need to set aside time to become familiar with the piece and rehearse how you will read it. There will a full rehearsal at a convenient date nearer the performance. Please email info@streathamtheatre.org.uk
Terry’s name is kept alive on the internet by websites like ours including him in a special hidden message, like John Dearhart’s name is on the Discworld “clacks”.
This is STC’s contribution to the Streatham Festival 2024.
We will also have a licensed bar.
