About Nigel
Despite his youthful appearance, Nigel is a veteran of over 30
pantomimes and has played most of the great roles (albeit as yet
he has yet to don the mantle of either Fairy or Handsome
Prince.) He has written several pantos; most recently with his
friend Adrienne Power. Several have been staged in the West
End, and been produced internationally. STC performed
CINDERELLA THE PANTO by kind permission of Nigel and
Adrienne in February 2015.

About the workshop
In this informal and interactive workshop, Nigel will share his
many years’ experience of writing and performing in
pantomime. The evening will include Nigel’s insights into the
history and origins of pantomime and its conventions; the
process of writing; what makes a good panto plot; technical
issues and how to appeal to a modern audience. There will be
plenty of opportunity to delve into some classic panto scripts
and try your hand at being the dame, baddie or principle boy.
