About the Workshop
Mhairi Grealis lives in Streatham and is a professional director, composer and playwright.

Mhairi promises to share her insights and expertise to help STC members to demystify the
process of writing a play.

The workshop will include:

  •  ‘how to’ get to the end, get ideas, and structure your work
  •  a Q&A about the industry from a writer’s perspective
  •  ‘how to’ develop as a writer

About the Workshop Leader – Mhairi Grealis
Professional director, composer and playwright

Mhairi has a worked extensively in creative learning. She is the Course Director for the
Richmond Theatre, and has just set up her own coaching business.

Her last play for the professional stage, which she edited, composed the music for and
directed, was shortlisted for an OFFIE (Off West End Theatre Awards).

Mhairi is currently focussing on writing, something she initially did in her early career,
when she wrote plays and wrote for the BBC. She is writing a play for up and coming
company, Dilated and is about to start work on a piece for the national touring
company, Proteus Theatre Company. Mhairi is also working with a journalist and
novelist on a piece set in the 1960s based on a true story.

When not writing, composing or directing, Mhairi is currently President of Streatham
Women’s Institute (WI).
