Welcome to the 2017 ‘Geoffrey Chaucer Canterbury Tale-telling Competition’.

Each teller of tales competes to tell the very best tale, in the very best way, supported by a motley crew who act out the story as best they can. The overall winner is then selected by the audience using the clapometer.

Chaucer’s Tales remain bawdy and hilarious to this day and in this version a selection are each told in modern language, making them much more accessible.

Not suitable for children.
