Description:

About Mhairi
Mhairi had a world class training in directing Shakespeare at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. She has directed all kinds of plays, from Shakespeare to children’s theatre with music. Mhairi has been writing since her teens, including work for the BBC. Her last play was an Exeunt Pick of the Year. She has been working in Creative Learning for over 15 years, including ten years as Course Director for the Richmond Theatre.

About the workshop
In preparation for STC’s adaptation of HAMLET later this year; this workshop is designed to give actors and directors an insight into the art of performing Shakespeare’s plays. Mhairi will share her vast experience of coaching actors in the speaking of Shakespeare’s text to bring it alive for a modern audience. We will be exploring extracts from Shakespeare’s most well-known plays, including specifically HAMLET.
